Panama City, Aug. 29 (EFE).- The Panamanian basketball team was beaten this Monday by Canada by 100 points to 56 at the end of the fourth window of the qualifying round for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
Canada early in the first period chained 16 unanswered points from the Panamanians, led by NBA basketball Detroit Pistons forward Kelly Olynyk, who from the three-point line was nearly perfect.
The Panamanians scored their first three points five minutes from the end of the first quarter, thanks to Jhivvan Jackson, who was the most insistent of the Panamanians in the first part of the game.
The end of the first half came with a score of 33-7 in favor of the visitors.
Nick Nurse, coach of the Canadian team, refreshed his team in the second half, but there was no noticeable change in his style of play, although the leader of the Canadian offense fell to this opportunity to Spain’s Unicaja basketball player, Melvin Ejim. , which added 11 units during this period.
