Toronto (Canada), August 4 (EFE).- Carlos Alcaraz will make his debut next Wednesday at the Canadian Open, which is part of the ATP Masters 1000 circuit, against the winner of the match between the Spaniard Bernabé Zapata Miralles and the American Ben Shelton.
Zapata Miralles, 26, is ranked 63rd in the ATP while Shelton, 20, is ranked 43rd in the world.
The draw for the tournament, carried out this Friday in Toronto, also determined that the third Spaniard in the competition, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (39 years old), will face the American JJ Wolf (45 years old) in the first round.
Alcaraz, world number one and first seed, and Russian Daniil Medvedev, second seed, are exempt from playing the first round of the tournament which takes place this year in Toronto from August 5 to 13.
