The Popular Party of Villanueva de la Cañada presented its candidacy for the next local elections of 28 million on Friday at the La Despernada Cultural Center. Accompanying the head of the list, Luis Partida, and his entire team were Ana Millán, assistant secretary for Organization and Territorial of the PP of Madrid, as well as deputies, mayors and candidates of the PP in the municipalities of the northern zone -west.
Luis Partida, mayor of Villanueva de la Cañada since 1979, still with an absolute majority, once again leads a renewed team whose average age is around 42, whose important academic training and professional experience of those who compose it: “Villanueva de la Cañada is today a benchmark, particularly in the field of education. It is a municipality with a high quality of life and a model to follow thanks to its balanced and environmentally friendly urban planning, but we can and must aspire to more. I am sure that the team that accompanies me in this new stage is the best I can have to meet the challenges that await me”.
During his speech, Luis Partida also highlighted the transformation of the municipality since he took office 44 years ago, as well as the commitments made during this last legislature: “Despite such difficult and unfavorable situations as the pandemic of coronavirus or the Filomena storm and thanks to the magnificent work of a hardworking and committed municipal government, always at the foot of the canyon”.
The popular candidate for mayor of Villanueva de la Cañada recalled that there are no magic recipes for success. “This can only be achieved – he stressed – with a vocation of service, effort, dedication and love”. He also assured that he felt “excited like the first time I applied and eager to continue working for my people. For this reason, I ask you to vote and do so for the People’s Party on May 28.”
future proposals
The electoral program to which the popular villanovenses subscribe in the local elections has around a hundred proposals for improvement for the municipality in this next legislature, related to the city model (sustainable, safe and connected), local development and innovation (promoting local trade and digitization), social well-being and quality of life with a particular focus on families, young and old.
Proposals include: building a training and innovation center; the start of new urban developments where subsidized and protected rental housing will be built; a road renovation plan in urbanizations; the expansion of the cemetery and the creation of a municipal crematorium; the construction of new cycle paths; the reduction of the tax rate and the environmental premium in the IBI; 100% reduction for electric vehicles; the expansion of the local police headquarters and the new civil protection centre; deployment of 5G networks and new WIFI zones; active mobility plan; intercity bus line; construction of a relay car park next to the Aquopolis roundabout; a family support center and a youth centre; new sports facilities (soccer field, rugby field and athletics track) and modernization of existing facilities; coverage of the CEIPSO Padre Garralda sports field; extension of CC El Castillo to accommodate more activities; improvements in parks, etc.
